Original Jerusalem Paintings

Michal Shmuel paints Jerusalem through color, reflection, stone and light. Some works hold a recognizable skyline or the Kotel; others let the city emerge gradually through abstract layers.
Compare Jerusalem of Spirit and Clarity, The Neshama of Jerusalem, Jerusalem Through Rose-Colored Lenses and A City Rooted in Time.
Michal paints from Studio Kli on the outskirts of Jerusalem, and the collection moves through many sides of the city. Some paintings fill its streets and walls with flowers, as in Jerusalem in Bloom and Flourishing Faith: Flowers of Jerusalem. Others turn to Hebrew letters, as in Hebrew Constellations: A City’s Silent Prayer, to prayer at the Western Wall in Between Heaven and Earth: The Kotel’s Eternal Bond, or to daily life in An Ultra-orthodox (Hareidi) Neighborhood.
Most of these Jerusalem paintings are large originals. Many measure 100 x 150 cm, and the largest reach 180 cm, sized for a living room, dining room or entry wall. Each painting page lists its exact dimensions, and several also note the medium, such as oil on canvas or oil and gold leaf on canvas. Every artwork comes with a certificate of authenticity.
