Since childhood, the olive tree has always held a profound meaning for me, not just for its beauty but for the deep roots it has in my family’s story and heritage. This painting draws inspiration from my father’s olive grove, nestled in the Ella Valley, where he cultivated his love for the Land of Israel. His connection to the soil, shaped by resilience and dedication, is woven into the fabric of my identity and artistic vision.

As a child, I would watch my father tend to the grove with unwavering care, his visits to this sacred space an annual ritual. Through his devotion, he taught me to see the olive tree not just as a symbol of peace and continuity, but as a testament to perseverance, faith, and love for the Land.

In this work, I sought to honor that legacy. The gnarled trunk, rendered with intricate textures, embodies the strength and struggles of the generations before me, while the green leaves shimmer in the sun with hope and renewal. The earthy tones of the background evoke the warmth of the Ella Valley, a place that resonates deeply within me.

This painting is more than an image; it is a bridge between past and present, a tribute to my family’s journey and our enduring connection to the Land and its timeless gifts.
