Solomon’s Pillars are natural rock formations in Timna Valley, north of Eilat, rising to a height of about 40 meters. Their towering presence left a strong impression on me, and I chose to paint them for many reasons. Situated in the desert, their historical and archaeological significance connects me to the origins of our people and ancient periods in Jewish history—something both fascinating and deeply meaningful. Through this painting, and others I hope to create, I aim to raise awareness about the importance, meaning, and presence of this vital part of our country.

While the natural colors of the pillars range from brown to reddish and yellowish shades of desert rock, I chose bold, striking colors that aren’t true to nature. These colors help convey the immense size of the stones and their varied surface shapes. The painting is structured like a jigsaw puzzle presenting a clean, powerful, and captivating view.
